Soon. It was announced at BlizzCon 2019, and the guess of most is that it may come out only by 2022. And this year a familiar one’s cropped up again. All that is known now is that Diablo 4 is in development for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC. Cosby had previously commented that if he were ever to write a Diablo show, it would "definitely be rated R." In March 2019, Blizzard Entertainment filed for a trademark for "downloadable films and movies featuring narratives based on a video game and provided via a video-on-demand service," the video game in question being the Diablo series. It’s late October, which means BlizzCon 2018 is right around the corner, which in turn means it’s time for the rumor mill. The fact that Blizzard has already added an opt-in section for the Diablo 4. The game could now be on track for an early 2023 release. It’s listed as the first tile in the 2023 section before Starfield which we know is coming out in the first half of next year. In September 2018, Cosby confirmed that he was in "final talks" for the project. During the Microsoft showcase in June 2022, Diablo 4 was listed as a 2023 release. Fans are mostly hoping this is a new mainline title, perhaps Diablo IV, but there are rumors swirling that this could be a remake, bundle, or mobile game. Rumors of the series first surfaced in August 2018. The series will be distributed by both Activision and Netflix. ![]()
